Question.  Exactly how does this effect my database ?
1. Your Reference file is updated with stocked, Direct to store and Buy in Products. Part, description, barcode, cost and RRP are updated
2. A scan for matching parts is done on your active product file using Barcode and then Part Number. Here are the conditions of a match....
        a. If a barcode match is found this is deemed an exact match
        b. If a part number match is found then a cost price comparison is also used and needs to be within a
50% range plus the part cannot be a duplicate or have an supplier code starting with an *

3. Once a part is matched the information from the reference file is inserted into the F7 (Alternate Suppliers) area of product control. That is the Barcode, Supplier Code, Cost, R.R.P.
4. If you choose to update the preferred supplier then your supplier code for Automotive brands is inserted into the Preferred supplier for the matching parts and the current supplier code moved to the second preferred supplier field.
5. If a part has already been marked with Automotive Brands as the preferred supplier but is not a matched part then the system looks for the supplier code of the last purchase and inserts that as the preferred supplier. If this does not succeed then an asterisk is inserted before the current preferred supplier code e.g. "*ABLOG"
